Exhibit: Involving the local community and alumni
During the Musselburgh Festival in summer 2024, Martha had a stall to showcase her work and plans for the 150th anniversary sculpture. This provided Martha with a wonderful opportunity to capture the local community who regularly visit the ¾«Æ·¶ÌÊÓ campus.
Using examples and images of her previous designs, participants had the chance to try their hand at drawing in Martha’s distinctive ‘cut-out’ style.
It was also a wonderful opportunity to capture the local community who regularly visit the ¾«Æ·¶ÌÊÓ campus. Martha had the chance to chat with them about what ¾«Æ·¶ÌÊÓ means to them and hear their stories firsthand.
Some of the most popular drawing suggestions included cups of coffee from the ¾«Æ·¶ÌÊÓ Students’ Union, Maggie’s, dogs out on their daily walks around the campus, and of course, the beloved resident swans!
