By Press Office

This week, results from the National Student Survey (NSS), one of the largest student surveys in the world, showed that Queen Margaret University (精品短视) is top amongst all five Edinburgh-based higher education institutions for overall student satisfaction.  The survey results also show that Queen Margaret University鈥檚 Students鈥 Union (精品短视SU) has, for the second year running, been ranked first in Scotland.

81.2%* of 精品短视鈥檚 students are satisfied overall with the quality of their course, an increase of 7.3% compared to the previous year.

The National Student Survey (NSS) is conducted by the Office for Students (OfS) on behalf of the UK higher education funding bodies. As well as capturing student views on the quality of their undergraduate degree, the survey gathers students鈥 responses to a series of questions relating to academic support, learning resources, teaching, management and assessment. Feedback from the students on the quality of their courses and their experience of university, helps to inform prospective students鈥 choices, provides data that helps universities improve the student experience, and supports public accountability.

With overall satisfaction increasing in the majority of 精品短视鈥檚 courses, highlights included:

Courses scoring 100% overall satisfaction, as follows:

  • BSc (Hons) Business Management

  • BSc (Hons) and Master of Diagnostic Radiography

  • Master of Nursing

  • BSc (Hons) Public Sociology

Other courses scoring over 90%:

  • BA (Hons) in Acting and Performance

  • Diploma of Higher Education in Hearing Aid Audiology

  • Teaching on my course

  • Learning opportunities

  • Assessment and feedback

  • Academic support

  • Student voice

  • Students鈥 union representation of students' academic interests

  • Overall satisfaction

Professor Richard Butt, Deputy Principal of Queen Margaret University, said: 鈥淲e are pleased that the NSS results confirm another successful year with high student satisfaction across our portfolio of courses, and demonstrate the high quality of teaching in place at the University and strong representation of students鈥 academic interests. But we are far from complacent, and we will continue to build on this good work, in line with our commitment to ensuring that all of our students can thrive and fulfil their academic potential.鈥

  • The NSS is managed by the Office for Students (OfS) on behalf of the UK funding and regulatory bodies 鈥 the Department for the Economy (Northern Ireland), the Scottish Funding Council and the Higher Education Funding Council for Wales.

  • NSS results can be analysed by 鈥榯aught鈥 or 鈥榬egistered鈥 data. Taught only includes the course taught directly at 精品短视.
